| I really don't like this episode of the Simpsons, which is unusual. It's the one where Lisa finds what looks like the skeleton of an angel, and all the Christians go mad, and she's the only one who realises it's a hoax. It bugs me, cause I'm Christian but we're not all like that. There are people who are, but not everyone.
Anyway. Exams all finished. Yesterday I took the telly up to the bathroom and watched Galaxy Quest in the bath. Bliss. Today, calculator maths started at 10:15. It takes me an hour to get into school. Guess what time I woke up.
10:05.
Ouch.
Got dressed very quickly and dad drove me in (for the first time in i don't know how long), and I got there about 20 minutes after it started. I managed to almost finish it, so not too bad. In fact, I found Social Issues this afternoon harder, but w/e. It's nice that they're over. Now we've just got the real exams to look forward to...
Susan, I'm sorry I got cut off like that earlier. Internet managed to bugger itself. That would be really hard.
I'm putting a new cover on my day book. It seem that they're lasting approximately half a term each so far. This one is very Green Wing-centric. Now, if only I had some glue...
There are a lot of ...'s in this post...

| Assignment: Write a line or two of something that you want to see appear verbatim in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
"Hermione and Ron gazed at the lifeless body, it's glazed eyes staring back up at them. Ron tried to speak, but he could hardly force out the sound.
After what seemed an age, he managed to choke out 'What did you do?'
Hermione tore her eyes away from the corpse in front of them and replied 'Never mind that. What are they going to call the seventh book?'"

| I know it sounds pretentious, and I'm only 15, but I've decided to start thinking about working on a script for a tv show, about what I know (ie, life at a london secondary school). Won't get anywhere, but it's good practice for writing skillz. So I'm looking through all my old posts on deadjournal. Holy shit. I'm very glad I wasn't particularly teenyboppery, but it is bad. Still, useful material.
I think I might make it in the kind of style of a blog. And alienate most people. Hmm. obviously this needs some thought.

| Dammit, try again.
Chemistry was piss easy. Had to point at a picture of a Bunsen burner etc. went straight from there to Oxford street, and the Vidal Sassoon school of Hairdressing. Got my hair done by a nice Japanese student, veryvery short. Her equally Japanese teacher, if less short, hovered about in a reassuring way, and they played that No Doubt album three times in the time I was there. Now, that's a good album, but it was a bit much. I was there for 3 and a quarter hours.
Basically, I love the result. It's kinda bobby, longer and flicky at the front, and shorter and layered at the back. I think it's a bit like Pansy (in some of lady_isabella's icons anyway), only a bit longer, but my brother says I look like Sebastian, from Little Britain. All depends on your point of view, I spose.
It's too short to tie back, anyway. | comments: 18 comments or Leave a comment |

Just got out of my French oral (snort). Mme Martin is so nice! I kept getting words wrong, and she kept telling me the right one. Anyway, I got 34/50, which is an A, so very happy with that. She also told me I got an A* for my listening.
0.0
Last time I did a listening I got an E. Step up much?
The relief from having done it combined with the whole A* thing has put me on such a high. I feel giddy. I was so nervous beforehand. I had the bit of Commercial for Levi that goes 'And if you don't change your situation, then you'll die, you'll die, you'll die, don't die.' playing in my head. Which is very good, but doesn't help the whole nervous thing.
In other news, instead of revising last night I watched Little Britain and straightened my hair. RS was ok, I think I've got quite a good mark. Biology could have been better. It's the only one I've done so far that I actually didn't revise for at all, and it shows.
The others are still in Spanish. I'm so glad I didn't do Spanish. I've decided to wait for them. That way I have someone to go home with, and also someone to tell about the A* thing.
I don't think you realise what a big deal this is for me. A*. In French. LISTENING. That's normally my worst mark. Ok, I'll stop squeeing now.

| | January 27th is the birthday of Lewis Carroll, author of ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND. Alice fell down a rabbit hole into a place where everything had changed and none of the rules could be counted on to apply anymore. I say, let's do the same: January 27th, 2005 should be the First Annual LiveJournal Rabbit Hole Day. When you post on that Thursday, instead of the normal daily life and work and news and politics, write about the strange new world you have found yourself in for the day, with its strange new life and work and news and politics. Are your pets talking back at you now? Has your child suddenly grown to full adulthood? Does everyone at work think you're someone else now? Did Bush step down from the White House to become a pro-circuit tap-dancer? Did Zoroastrian missionaries show up on your doorstep with literature in 3-D? Have you been placed under house arrest by bizarre insectoid women wielding clubs made of lunchmeat? | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |

That's 15 in all. I thought I was doing 10 GCSEs.
Maths was... ok. I reserve judgement. I passed, I think. Which is nice. French listening is the most deceptive of the papers. I always come out of it thinking 'Oh, well, I did ok on that. Not too great, but I should get an ok mark.' And then I get an E. French sucks ass.
I just got an email saying 'turtledove'. That's it. The subject line is 'orthographies'. From 'Impatiently F. Coots <slatternly@star.ca>'.

| - I'll give you 3 bits of information about myself. - Go onto the Candybar site and create a doll, using those 3 things, of me. - Then, post the picture in a comment. - After a couple of days, I'll post a doll of how I actually look, and you can see how close you were.
Good luck!
